I talked about checking out an animal book, mainly for kids some time back. This monkey (kind of seen in Lion King as well) caught my attention. This is Mandrill or Ground Monkey. It has distinctive features. Plus it remains on ground most of the times. It goes to Trees only for sleeping. Well, what a marvelous variety of animals we have. Alas many animals in the world are vulnerable or endangered. Image : Captured from the book.

@nela13 Cases are again rising in India and strict measures are likely in a few states. Just hoping that vaccination picks up pace.

You are a good father to teach your kids about animals and make connections to movies. It should help them remember well.

@DianneN Thanks for the compliments. I feel books are vital for kids. Yes digital media has its plus. Yet books' importance never goes away.

It is a shame that so many animals are under threat of extinction.

@JudyEv Yes that is so shameful. Yet there are good conservation efforts as well.
