BIG $ Tree

United States
March 6, 2021 4:40pm CST
I know I'm being lazy by not taking things out of the bag, but... Oh well? Crafty Day did not include crying, thankfully... But I am glad we did it. I have two dollar trees within reasonable distance from me. One hardly has anything in it, the other is usually well stocked... However, THIS ONE, the one we went to today, was where to go. It had a lot of different things including an extended craft section. I got a few more things for my tiered tray project, somethings for my lantern project... These are things i'll update in a separate post. How's you (Insert Day, Week, Time, Cat here)?

I've been wondering where you were hiding this afternoon. Glad you had a good shopping trip.

Had a planned Craft Day with friends. Wasn't sure if we were going to do it today but we did. I found this large square block that I am trying to consider. It would go well on the top of the "lantern" and I could attach wire to it to make it look more realistic.

@DaddyEvil And I'm just now realizing I didn't look at their votive / candle section. Didn't you say walmart had those large LED candles though?

So far it's going great. The house is warm again now, which is definitely a bonus. (Our HVAC guy had to come out and pin the duct work back up under the house)

Have fun crafting! Told you you won't be spending a dollar if you go there.

You were right and I spent even more because I was with friends. There were several things I would have told myself "no" if I had been by myself.

It's evening, and I just got home. The weather seemed plesent despite this morning's rain. Supposed to get a little on the cooler side, today. But, we're still in winter for another three or so weeks so it's to be expected.

We're warming up here. It definitely feels like spring in NC.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Compared to what your winters are like, I suppose I can't complain. I mean it's in the 60's here which isn't really that bad. But, still wish we had sunlight today.

@kaylachan We have a lot more mild winters than we do voracious ones. I like a really nice and snowy winter though.

I wish you had been with us, you would have loved all the face masks and stuff I saw there. I should have taken pictures. There were some with rose oil and hemp seed oil and it was great. It's a bit too far away for me to go to regularly though.

Sounds like a really great trip! Mine day has been pretty similar to yours, funnily enough. We have two Dollar Trees within 10 miles of us, and my oldest and I went to both of them today. I found most of the things I was looking for at the first, but they didn't have the wicker baskets I saw at the other store yesterday or the scrub brush I wanted. The second store had those and a few other things. I wonder if the extended craft section is a new move by corporate... they just remodeled the second store a bit and expanded the craft section from half an aisle to an aisle and a half, and they've got lots of neat stuff that they didn't have before.

I feel like this dollar tree had two craft aisles and a lot more wooden stuff to paint. They also had a lot more yarn than the one I go to has. I know on the dollar tree website it says "All dollar trees now have Crafter's Corner". I meant to look at the organizational stuff at this dollar tree but I forgot. It was kind of a mess with all of us saying "Hey look at this!" and my friend's niece pulling us out of the store before we went broke.

The nearest Dollar Tree is about 20 minutes in a neighboring town and I go in sometimes. It's much smaller then the one in Salem. I wish we'd get a 99 cent store here. Back in CA, I'd shop often since they had fresh produce, name brand groceries and a huge variety.
