If there is one fact about being a correctional officer, it is the fact that they are on the clock 24 hours a day, seven days a week since it is their duty to serve and protect persons in their community. New Jersey correctional officer named Faustino Saucedo who was off the clock on Sunday afternoon when he was on the Edison bridge between Woodbridge and Sayreville when he saw a crowd of people trying to prevent a man who was going to jump off the bridge to end his life most likely due to depression. Officer Saucedo who is employed at the Adult Diagnostic and Treatment in Avenel parked his auto and grabbed the man who tried to jump off of the bridge by grabbing his shoulder and held him until other persons managed to bring him back over the railing to safety. The suicidal man was taken by ambulance to a local hospital to be checked out for his depression troubles. I am sure that Officer Saucedo will say he was just doing his job by saving the life of a person who wanted to end his own life.

A real hero! He must get tremendous satisfaction in saving lives. But the job must be extremely stressful for him trying to say the right thing to talk them down.

I have heard police officers giving free talks to the Domino's Pizza employees that they have very tough jobs.

@dgobucks226 They mention that having to tell the parents of a deceased child is the worst feeling they face.

I am sure that the depressed man will find help in the medical center since all of us need some encouragement.
