Crimson Crepe Myrtle is Sprouting

Was out in the yard earlier to look for new spring growth. I found a lot. I snapped a photo of one of the crepe myrtle trees. You can see the green sprout just starting. A great sign of good things to come. Crimson blooms will be here soon. Spring is such a happy time. The doors are open. The birds are singing. Many reason to be happy this time of year. Hope is being renewed.

Is that new growth from the tree? I hadn't heard of a Crepe Myrtle, just an ordinary Myrtle... not that I've seen one!

Yes, it will all grow in together. This is a photo from last year at full maturity.

@JudyEv Yes, it is just how this grows. There are several small trunks.

This tree does this every year. And then it all grows together with multiple trunks.

It's chillier today so my doors are not open yet. Tomorrow might be nicer but I'll be working. I'm looking forward to enjoying your spring flowers and shoots while waiting for mine too show up. I might have a crocus or daffodil starting but it's too short to determine just yet.
