I am not much of a success when it comes to seasonal flowers although I have not given up, But our garden has lots of colour - heliconia, ixora, bougainvillea, alamanda, tiger tail, Chinese hats,, colourful croton, ..............and these are perennials. Are you happy with just perennials in your garden?

My country is a tropical country. We have the sun all year round so we enjoy our flowers the whole year but I don't have any flowering plant growing in my garden. Color is provided by my coleus.

@allknowing I have 10 of the 100 plus varieties of coleus in my collection. I am giving some of my coleus cuttings to the girls center where I worked before.

@allknowing Yes I think ten is a good enough number too but every time I go to the market I see lots of coleus for sale then I buy again I do plant every cutting I get so I can give more plants to the girls at the girls center.

This is the portion close to the house but from the gate it is almost 30 feet away and those 30 feet are surrounding by border plantation. with a wide path

Most of the ones i have are tropical and most of them aren’t flowering ones. I love foliage.

Foliage is not bad at all. I have many of those and they do not need much maintenance either.

@toniganzon You can sprinkle wood ash on the leaves rather than use a pesticide.

@allknowing True they don’t need much attention but i’m giving mine much attention from pests as most of the ones i own are rather expensive.

Annuals actually add more colour. Do you sow the seeds or get fully grown plants.
