Here’s today’s song with “dream” in the title. All month long it’s all about the dream, and soon the top ten will be presented. Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through - Meat Loaf I used a Jim Steinman-written song last month, and I mentioned that a friend of mine said that his songs sounded like nothing but a bunch of song bridges shoved together. Yeah, but I’ll give the guy credit: amid all those bridges he crammed into one song this time around, he put a lot of great lines in. One of my best friends gets goose bumps over “You can put on the [head]phones and let the drummer tell your heart what to do.” Meat Loaf once said he’d probably win an Oscar before a Grammy (he’s acted throughout his career, including playing Eddie in The Rocky Horror Picture Show [and in the play, he played both Eddie AND Dr. Scott]), but Bat Out of Hell II proved him wrong: he won a Grammy for “I’d Do Anything For Love.” Hooray for him being proved wrong in that regard, but this song is better.
