Needless to say, this English Pensioner plans were ruined

Ruins / Ruined, get it? I know, I crack myself up. Charles Pole is a retired and disabled man who set out to have a small place built in his back garden for him to live while he sold the main home. That plan was ruined after surveyors found the remains of Bishop's Palace, a 13th century estate that historians thought were lost. I'll leave you to read more about it (I know not a lot of people are interested in this stuff like I am). Image courtesy of CC license and attributed to "Palais épiscopal Bishop's Palace, Wells, Somerset, Angleterre, Royaume-Uni." by byb64 is licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 2.0 It is NOT the aforementioned palace.
Beginning in the 13th century, the castle in Somerset County served as a residence for local bishops

This is the exact thing I envision when I think of England's Aristocracy.

@CarolDM I haven't watched any of those shows filmed in or about England, but I feel like this palace would make an excellent backdrop for some regency show about .. Well I guess like Downtown Abbey.

@Tina30219 I'd have tours of the garden (even if it was just a small plot) and charge for pictures taken of the exposed wall.

Yeah, but I think that's a pretty cool find. If I was him I'd be milking it for all it's worth.

@kobesbuddy Oh yes, it's awful. Of course, England has it's fair share of horrific incidents in history, but it doesn't seem as bad since the history is spread out over time. We've had 244 years of bad stuff.

@LindaOHio So you'd like to live in a live action revival / recreation, but not in the reality of it. Me too.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I would love to live in Medieval times just to experience it but without the pestilence, fleas, lice, lack of running water, etc. lolololol
