Just when we thought the pandemia could have humbled man....

Over a year now of global pandemic and a fourth wave looms over irrepressible Europe and America.
Interestingly, India is a case in point as cases plummet.
Someone did say that the virus is the single threat to man's dominion, as we saw early on when man was coerced to shelter-in-place, a lockdown the only preventive measure to contain the virus that preyed on human hosts.
Stubborn as man was, mounting silly reasons like conspiracy theories against mask mandate, the pandemia is again prolonged.
What could be worse?
Nothing tops man's imbecility.
A coup d'etat in Myanmar. We learn now junta is backed by China.
Racism and sexism marches all across the globe, including xenophobia.
The last 24 hours the United Kingdom has panned world attention to the Indo-Pacific Region, sending warships to stand sentinel against China.
Grrrrr. Has UK not had enough of India that it has presupposed three more countries to the G7?
Please! Enough of destroying the rest of Asia. Carry your war with China.
Let India and the Pacific stay calm and peaceful. Grow your own crops and bother not other nations.
Commonwealth? Hmmmpf!

Well, you do have a point there. But the same preaching and rules should go for China too. This is one nation which has always created trouble in neighborhood and even globe. To stay competitive and on top, it has a record of mistrust and violation of all set rules. Having peace with a nation obsessed with territory aggression seems a challenge. No matter how peace loving a nation might be,it has to be prepared with all aggressive means to face the threat to its integrity.

@eileenleyva And look at their audacity. They now have declined that covid started there. They will issue visa to only those who have been vaccinated with Chinese vaccines. They are bullies and right in open. They suppress everything democratic and humanitarian. They are going for indirect imperialism. But times have changed. Wars in real sense might still be prevalent but in today's world economic war is more effective. If China doesn't corect it's course, it might be cornered by all nations and might be weakened in coming decade. Countries like India have already started boycotting it's products and is trying to be competitive to it. It's challenging but can be achieved.
I pity for the citizens there. They suffer due to their government policies. They have to face the criticism and hatred.

@arunima25 I also feel for the ordinary Chinese who had been enslaved by the CCP. Time and again they have found ways to call for help. When discovered, they are killed.
Having said that, China has already identified the weak points of other nations. Laos and Pakistan are reportedly the latest countries China aided infrastructure to, with an agreement these countries are subject to China's policies for a hundred years. The salami-slicing continues.
As sinister as ever.
Which is why there is xenophobia in Europe and America. China is the culprit but all Asians are compromised.
The G7 has triangulated China, securing the help of India, Australia, and Japan. But please let the war be in China, not us. We are so small we could be peppered easily. The reef where China built a missile arsenal is only two kilometers away from us.

@eileenleyva That's the irony. In order to punish China, many innocent countries might be the worst sufferers. Myanmar is going through that right now. The common people are suffering there for no fault of theirs.

Locally our city is now in a critical stage since the rise of new cases has risen almost double figures. I really do not know what to do we are still reporting to our office to this day and I am worried again as I started to go out to places again. My Boss said that we might return to WFH again if the new cases will rise again. The world is trying to get normalized but the virus is still out there mutating and getting stronger for their survival.

@eileenleyva Well, I guess we just need to go to work because our nature of work requires us to be at the workplace. So far no new cases from within the workplace and I feel practically safe in the office. I am just worried about when I am going to places other than my workplace. So for now, I am extra careful again when I travel to and from work.

@rsa101 Your prerogative. My only consolation is when it's our time, it's our time.

Did you hear - it's now called novel coronavarious.
You bet the situation is more lethal. The hospitals are in CODE YELLOW four days ago.
I know you are fatalistic but it's your life. If you are forced to go on your work though, demand a vaccine.

Hoping also that the virus will soon be gone. As in your country, our cases have multiplied exponentially. The vaccine has just become a rare commodity item. If one journalist's calculation is correct, it will take 15 years to get all my people inoculated.
That is not a good thing.
