This literally just popped up on my Facebook feed and I am amazed.
If you need any more proof that Drew Brees is just a great person, well here it is.
Drew Brees is leading a partnership to redevelop Six Flags/Jazzland in New Orleans East.
Drew Brees formed a non-profit call S.H.I.E.L.D 1 with fellow NFL players Demario Davis and Josh Norman and with Colorado developer Kiernan West Real Estate they proposed an "Agriculture Innovation Hub" to replace abandoned rides and damaged infrastructure.
Six Flags took over Jazzland and when Katrina hit in 2005, six flags left. The park has been abandoned ever since. That right there is so depressing. To have a theme park but no way to open it. Imagine how devastated kids were.
The new view for this park is to teach people, the article used young people but I think everyone would want to learn, farming techniques, create jobs, and supply food.
It's intended to benefit farmers, faith-based organizations, and trade schools. It would help other groups as well but these are the main benefactors.
They want to make it like a theme park that would attract tourists and the local communities.
I think that this is just a great idea. It would help so many people and communities that are still hurting not only from Katrina but the recent hurricanes and storms that have blown through.
Not to mention all the learning opportunities. I mean you would basically be teaching people in general how to be more green in their life. We would also learn how we get our food. I mean seriously, we all know that we depend on farmers but do we really know how they do their job? We just nod and agree when someone says that something is organic or is farm fresh. Now we would know what that really means.
What do you think of Drew Brees new venture? Think it could work?
All the info came from a facebook news place called WGNO

I agree with a lot of that. If it creates more jobs and creates opportunities for future generations to eventually learn something valuable, I'm all for it. It would hopefully strengthen the ecconomy. Hopefully, by the times the renovations are complete, people would be more willing to attend huge public places again.
