Saint Charles County Officer Scott Ronald who was near the home when a fire began in the home one block away from his home when he was called into service from a dispatcher that an elderly couple were trapped inside of their home. Officer Ronald decided to do his part to make an attempt to save the couple from dying by smoke inhalation or being burned to death in the fire since the firefighters had not arrived to put out the fire. Officer Ronald was greeted by the granddaughter of the disabled senior citizens were trapped inside their home. Officer Ronald who was inside his patrol car used a sledgehammer to break open the back door that is located next to the garage where the fire started. I will admit that Officer Ronald has a lot of courage to enter a smoked filled room to locate the elderly lady who was inside her bedroom. He was able to get her out of the burning home outside safe and sound while another police officer was able the senior man out of the house safe and sound before the firefighters came to put out the fire. Thanks to the actions of Officer Ronald and the other officer, there were no injuries. The local firefighters were able to put out the fire. Officer Ronald insists he that he is not a hero. He was doing his job of service to his community. I like his modesty.

Another great hero -- Even if he says he isn't one.

Most heroes say they are not heroes. Such selfless people. The world needs more of that.
