How do you like banana split how would you like your topping and ingredients in this great dessert ?

I still remember eating a great banana split during the snow fall in an ice cream shop called 31(They have 31 different kinds of ice cream favor at that time , that's why they called the shop 31). It was snowy day and I was walking along with some of my high school classmate after school and holding that big banana split with a bit shape container and of course with three different scope of my ice cream favor such as strawberry, chocolate and vanilla with many different kinds of topping on it as well. It was extremely happy to eat with your friends during the snow fall. How about you ? Do you have similar experience that you want to share with us ?

I don't think I've ever had a banana split. And I've never eaten ice cream in snowy weather.

You don't need to eat it during the snow fall but you can at least try a bit of it since it will be full of fat and sugar as well ( Before hand we won't care about all these health reacted issue the we were still young but now is a different story.) But I think when your friends or your love one is having a banana split , it won't harm to use a spoon to try a bit of it. Mmmmm, just imagine about the taste will be happy fo me now.

@wildlittlefan Well, I'm on a macrobiotic diet but I could have a bit as a treat now and then as long as I don't make a habit of it!

@sharonelton Yes, yes. Don't make it as a habit because eating banana split is actually not good for health . However, once in awhile is okay .

I ate my first banana split over 60 years ago a Saturday in the US where my father had taken us as he had gone to work there. It was amazing. It was inside a Woolworsth, a place where they sold just about everything one could want.

@wildlittlefan I think that some of the stores of the Woolworth chain are not there any longer. A pity. It was enchantment for me.

Yes, I still remember Woolworth and they did sell almost anything. Ha ha, that means we are not young anymore. I am not sure if they still exist now ? Thank you sharing with us anyway and have great day.

I used to eat banana split with one of my classmates. I lived in another part of the country at that time and our favorite cafe sold banana split. I have never had banana split with several different kinds of ice cream. Here they usually sell it with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Different kinds of ice cream sound delicious, I would like to try that.

Sounds like a cool memory for you! My ideal banana split has one banana (no dark spots or strings!) topped with three kinds of ice cream, hot fudge sauce, walnuts in syrup, and real whipped cream on top with three maraschino cherries. Wish I had one!
