March has proved to be a great month for my creative writing. I won a book Writers 750 Emerald Workbook by Heather Marie Schuldt who runs free monthly contests. I have entered for March (now closed as judging is in progress). If you want to have a go from April onwards check the vompetition site at http://writers750program.com/writers750program Additionally I sent a book proposal for a new book on pub signs to a publisher – the chap who read the proposal liked it and told me he is forwarding it to his bosses. Just received notice that they like it too so I have to send the full book to them tomorrow. Arthur Chappell
The basic goal of this workbook is for writers to write one new story each month for twelve months and practice using the tools of writin...

Good going! Last thing I won was a tin of Quality Street and that was in the 90s

@Ronrybs wouldn't surprise me - only ones I never liked were the big round caramel ones that could break your teeth

@arthurchappell Me too, but I avoid too many chocs these days. I do believe they have changed the mix in the tins these days

That is awesome news. I hope you get the new book deal. It sounds very good so far. That workbook sounds good, too. I think it would be very useful to write one story a month.

Good luck with your book on pub signs. This is an interesting subject because we are losing many of our traditional pubs and the signs will become rare and collectable in the future. Does your book explain the history behind the pub names?
