And now I finally have my other $50!

This is a continue on from a couple posts I've done recently regarding a friend who owed me money. I wasn't expecting to get the other half any time soon but surprisingly I did! She told me she was going to pay me the other half next Thursday to which I thought "Yeah you probably won't." But she actually transferred me the other half yesterday. I'm very happy about that. After over a year, she has finally given me the full amount. After all the excuses / some lies, her not contacting me regarding it, not paying me the days she said she would, I finally have the damn money! I must say too, the other night when she said she didn't have the other $50, I saw her post a post on a Buying and Selling page asking for a dress for her baby for roughly $50. Interesting.... So I "Liked" the post as a way to say "I see you." Anyway, for those of you who know about this, just a random update, the amount is finally fully paid and I'm never lending her a cent ever again. Thank you for reading, hope all is well. Will see you all a bit later.

@VivaLaDani13 if she's a good friend you don't even need to charge her but rather she should hand over the money plus a little extra

@louievill I think we both know that's not going to happen.

Well done to like her post, at least she knew that you got her telling lies. Never give her money anymore.

@VivaLaDani13 I see below that you found the right word to describe this woman "careless", she seems only interested in herself, may be it is the way she grew up, a family where people do not care.

@LadyDuck You know, as much as I would hope she knew I knew, something tells me she didn't catch on. She's not dumb! She's just....I don't know the right word. Not completely good with common sense? In her mind she probably just saw I liked her post and thought nothing of it and not thinking that I know the truth. Not in a mean way. I've just observed that her and well, her sister, brother and mother....lack....something. But I don't know the correct word.

@toniganzon I loved your comment! I agree with you! I'm still kinda in disbelief with how she acted throughout this. But I'm glad it's over!

@toniganzon I will still continue to be her friend as it will only make things awkward for me and her brother (who I'm seeing) too complicated. Only thing I will change is never giving her things with a chance of never getting it back.

@marlina I wouldn't even lend her a DVD or book because I truly believe she is one of those people who would lose it. I don't like when people do that with other people's belongings.

@VivaLaDani13 I am doing good. I am happy for you, though it might be little for some, 50 is 50. when you borrow, you need to give it back.

@VivaLaDani13 You are so welcome my friend. You and your family have been through a lot and I hope life gets better for all of you. It is very hard to get money from someone that will not give it to you.

I don't know why people don't pay right away the amount they owe others. Unless they are in financial difficulty, they shouldn't delay paying. Debt is debt, no matter small or big. In fact if it's small amount then why delay paying it? It may be small to them but it may not be small to the person they owe it to. edit: I just realized it's an old discussion

@LittleMel I completely agree with you! No worries about this discussion being old. What you're saying is still extremely valid and like you, I understand if people truly are struggling with money but I seriously dislike it when people say they are struggling to pay people back, meanwhile they are buying expensive things (things they want, no need). It kinda hurts sometimes because I am not rich and when I loan money, I do it out of kindness and dislike the disrespect I get back when I really need the money back. Thank you so kindly for answering.

@snowy22315 Honestly, me too! If she truly was struggling then that would be different but I guess she doesn't think I'm a very observant person. I agree with you! Won't be doing her any more loaning! Not worth the trouble or the disrespect from her.

That's a good news. I have a lot of similar experience, lol. I just want to forget it as it is causing me a lot of stress. Some already transferred to a new address and I just considered it a bad debt. I am trying to be as patient as possible with my new business.

@Shiva49 It's so awful to remind people about what they owe. I do feel lucky but I honestly feel that if I never said anything, she would have continued to not mention it nor pay me. It was just such a very long time and was never brought up unless I said something.
