Key West/Florida Keys Ideas

Hi all! Happy Day Dreaming Thursday! Just popping in the treadmill for an hour and though I’d see if anyone has any experience in the Florida Keys. Me and a good friend are heading down there and my only plan so far is to check out the Everglades National Park, do some driving and short hikes, hopefully see some gators, and hopefully take a fan boat ride or some other swamp adventure. After that, we will head down to the Keys be be staying in Key Largo, and then Key West. Only for about 4-5 days total. It is to commemorate her dad who passed away last year, and he spent a lot of time in the Keys and was always talking about it. Things I am considering: *Dry Tortugas National Park (it’s an island, cheapest way to get there is a $190 ferry, so I doubt my friend will want to go) *Ernest Hemingway house and museum *Southern Most Point (just seems like a cool landmark) I haven’t done a whole lot of research yet. Praying the weather cooperates as it is in September, which I know is in hurricane season. Have you been to the Florida keys? What would be your suggestions?
