Hello everyone, how are you all doing? I am back to share how my first day back on my weight loss journey went. Let's start with the weigh in. It is not great, but I surprisingly didn't gain. Last weigh in: 195 Today: 192 Blood sugars - those are not good at all. However, I knew that would be the case. Fasting - 304 Meal 1 -- Meal 2 - 183 Meal 3 - 146 It did drop down throughout the day which is nice. Hoping to get it under 100 as soon as I can. So - what did I eat on this more carnivore style way of eating? Meal 1 - 2 oz deli turkey and 2 cheese sticks (4 net carbs, 300 calories) Meal 2 - can of tuna with mayo & no sugar added ketchup 2 hard boiled eggs with mayo & mustard (4 net carbs, 534 calories) Meal 3 - 1 ounce of steak (wasn't hungry for more meat lol) and Quest peanut butter cups (1 net carb, 264 calories) I also had a zipfizz drink; that was 2 net carbs but it was included in meal #2 I did a workout (dancing) for an hour and 5 minutes and burned approx. 595 calories. I am ending the day at 9,504 steps. I didn't get to my goal on the water, but I am trying. Got 24 oz (plus whatever I will drink before going to sleep). So totals for the day: Calories - 1,098 Protein - 90 Fat - 75 Net Carbs - 9 Water - 24 oz + Calories burned - 595 So....what do you think of my first day back on a weight loss journey? If you are on a diet....how did you do? Photo via Pixabay

The first day sounds like it was a good one for you. I'm 183.2, I've lost two lbs in as many days. I watched a video months ago from this woman who tries all the different types of diets and exercise plans. She walked 20,000 steps each day for a week and was able to lose some weight from that. Not sure I'd do that every day for a week though. 6.7 k steps so far today. 3.1 miles Today is a "cheat day" for me as I'm having chips.

@MommyOfEli2013 I keep meaning to look at walmart's selection of pork rinds and I always forget. I usually go into walmart to get water, atkins bars and then to the craft section I go. You're right. As long as we are losing it's great. We don't always see the inches slipping off of us, but they do. I want the fat on my back to go away.

@ScribbledAdNauseum They do have a brand of plain ones that I like....the ones I had today are from Southern Recipe....sea salt and pepper flavor. But that sounds like a good way to shop there lol. I don't think I can have Atkins products....at least their desserty bars spike my sugar. Yes, that is true about weight loss.......I know it is a struggle when stalls happen though. I understand...I want the fat everywhere to go away haha

Was too low in calories though since I was still hungry at the end of the day. Losing two pounds is great, as long as we are losing it is good...even if it is not fast. It's good she was trying them all to see which one worked best for her. Wow, 20,000 steps? That is a lot! I don't think I would do that either. Sounds like you are already at a good step/mile # for the day! Hope you enjoy your chips....I am having chips of my own - pork rinds lol

remember your body will increase that blood sugar the first few days of a diet!

I don't remember that....Mine should go down since I am giving up the things that spike it.

@MommyOfEli2013 it should i agree but remember for a few days your body will react to the change by increasing your blood sugar.

That's a good start. Your numbers should continue to go down. Keep forcing that water down! I need to do that myself.

It was, I kept the carbs super low. However my blood sugar was still so high this morning.. I know that number comes down last though. I will try with the water, just is not easy
