In 1968 Cliff Richard performed in the Eurovision Song Contest at the Royal Albert Hall in London, England. He sang "Congratulations" and placed second. In 1968 Simon and Garfunkel got to number one on the US album chart with the soundtrack from the movie "The Graduate." The most remembered song was "Mrs Robinson." In 1973 David Bowie released his song "Drive-In Saturday" The lyrics of the song mentioned Mick Jagger - "When people stared in Jagger's eyes and scored", the model Twiggy "She'd sigh like Twig the wonder kid" and Carl Jung "Jung the foreman prayed at work" In 1999 there was an all-star tribute to singer and songwriter Johnny Cash in New York City for a TV special with Sheryl Crow, Chris Isaak, and U2

I do love “Mrs. Robinson,” but I was completely underwhelmed when I saw The Graduate. I had no idea what all the fuss was about...didn’t care for the movie at all. Oh, well, this is music history, not movie history!

I remember the movie and the soundtrack from The Graduate. It did a lot for Dustin Hoffman's career.

epic day! Bowie was an artist I loved, then stopped listening to, then came to love again. His stuff is often iconic!
