In 1964 The Supremes recorded "Where Did Our Love Go" which became their first number one US single. They went on to have 12 number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In 1965 Unit Four Plus Two got to number one on the UK singles chart with "Concrete and Clay" In 1967 Sandie Shaw came in number one at the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, Austria representing Britain with "Puppet On a String" She was the first female UK artists to win this contest In 1975 Aerosmith came out with their third studio album Toys In the Attic. It became their most commercially successful album in the US selling 8 million copies and featuring the hit "Walk This Way" In 1977 Clash released their first self-titled album in the UK It is considered to be one of the greatest punk albums of all time. It sold over 100,000 copies in the US making it one of the biggest selling import records of all time In 1978 Brian and Michael (Kevin Parrott and Michael Coleman) were at number one on the UK singles chart with "Matchstalk Men and Matchstalk Cats and Dogs" which was inspired by painter LS Lowery In 1991 Massive Attack, an English trip-hop group released their debut studio album, Blue Lines. It was the 21st greatest album of all time in a "Music of the Millennium" poll conducted by HMV, Channel 4, The Guardian and Classic FM. The album was also included in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. In 1994 Pink Floyd's 1973 album The Dark Side Of the Moon became the fourth biggest selling album in US history and passed the 13 millionth mark in sales. In 1995 Take That were at number one on the UK singles chart with "Back For Good" At the 1996 Brit Awards the song won Best British Single In 2001 Emma Bunton, a former Spice Gril was at number one on the UK singles chart with "What Took You So Long" She became the fourth Spice Girl to have a solo number one hit In 2010 Alex Turner had his seventh consecutive UK number one album with The Last Shadow Puppets' Everything You've Come to Expect In 2017 the late rapper Tupac Shakur, songwriter Joan Baez and Pearl Jam were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with ELO, Journey, and Yes

The Dark Side of The Moon was must listening when I was in college. The Supremes... now isn't this a perfect name for that group! They helped put Motown Records on the map
