What Do You Do With Lemons Peels and Egg Shells?

On baking days, we have a lot of eggs and lemon peels.
So far, I've been crushing the egg shells to spread on the soil to hopefully deter snails and slugs.
We received several colorful mayana (coleus) plants and some leaves looked like something nibbled on them.
Please confirm if you've used egg shells, too, and if they worked.
Or if you know other uses for egg shells or other ways to deter snails and slugs.
There are 7 lemons in all. Can the lemon peels be used in the garden also?
Thanks!

We use the egg shells in our garden but I am not sure if this has a good effect. About the lemon peels, I think it is also good for our plants. Lemons peels can be composed and can be a good fertilizer.

The calcium in the egg shells is supposed to be good, but I'm hoping it discourages the snails and slugs too so 2-in-1. I'll spread the lemon peels among the other plants.

@merrybelle2021 We are just starting with our gardening activities and I haven't seen any snail as of yet. We only have a small area so we are planting vegetables using empty soft drinks plastic bottles and some plastic containers. I want to maximize the space and to encourage our neighbors to do the same.

Egg shells are good for the soil but I'm not sure if they actually keep snails and slugs away. I thought they added calcium to the soil.
Peels can be put in a compost pile that will fertilize your garden. Great way to recycle stuff you would normally trash!

I also thought calcium was the main reason. Hopefully the shell's texture stops the snails and slugs too.

Do you just dip them in hot water? Do you add anything else, say, honey?

I never knew the egg shells can do that.
I use the lemon peels as freshener.

Like you I've used egg shells to drive away snails and slugs from my plants. The lemon peels and discarded lemons from lemon water are placed on potted plants to serve as fertilizer. Same as egg shells they all turn into nutritious food for my plants.

@merrybelle2021 Yes ... it's even okay to just put then on the pot soil after peeling the lemons . Lemon water aids in digestion and is a source of vitamin c

So it's okay to chop up the lemon peels and just sprinkle them on the soil?
What benefit do you get from drinking lemon water?

Just the way you do it - egg shells and lemon peels in the backyard soil, together with all the other peelings. For vermiculture.

We have garden snails that enjoy our flower bed. We just let them enjoy it, because the flower bed has nothing but weeds in it. When we cook with eggs, they just get tossed out, because we really don't need them for anything.
