As I say all the time when I do these countdowns, mention a topic and there are songs that just automatically pop into your head as you think, “Oh, that’s gotta be included.” This was probably one of those songs (for you older folks, that is) that came to mind when I said I was going to do a series of songs with “fool” in the title for April Fools day. Well, here it is...whether you were thinking of it or not! #8: Why Do Fools Fall in Love - Frankie Lymon & the Teenagers I’ve mentioned this before, too: Frankie Lymon didn’t even get to make it to that “cursed age” to join the “27 Club.” He died at 25 of a heroin overdose. This is the song that put him on the map, as a songwriter and a singer. A happy, innocent doo-wop song that was perfect for its time....and is perfect for all time.
