Heart disease and drugs didn't cause George Floyd's death

The Medical Examiner in the Derek Chauvin murder trial testified today that while heart disease and fentanyl contributed to Floyd's death they were not the primary cause of it. Well DUH. Of course not. His death was caused by Chauvin's knee on Floyd's neck FOR OVER NINE MINUTES. That is not compatible with life. Floyd repeatedly said he couldn't breathe. He then had a seizure, was unconscious, and stopped breathing for over 3 minutes. This whole thing makes me so angry. They need to lock Chauvin up and throw away the key. Murderer.
George Floyd's heart disease and use of fentanyl were contributing factors to his death, but they were not the direct cause, the medical examiner who performed his autopsy testified on Friday in the trial of former police officer Derek Chauvin.

I supported the Chief of Police and Lead homicide investigator who both said what Chauvin did was literally overkill. I can't even imagine..... I have the unfortunate experience of knowing quite a few "pro-police all the time" people that make excuses as to why Chauvin is not guilty - and it makes me sick to think of blindly following people just because of them having a badge or whatever. They're human which means they are biased, make mistakes, and bad decisions like everyone else. No one lives on a pedestal. I am tuning in constantly to the trial. I work in downtown Minneapolis maybe a mile or two from where the federal trial is going on....So there's that. Haha. Praying that these jurors make the right decision.

I wish I'd seen this discussion sooner but I seem to have so much going on right now I just found it after posting my own discussion about the verdict. I'm fascinated that you work so close to where the trial took place! I'm so relieved the jurors did, in fact, make what I believe to be the only possible decision. I'm curious as to how the people in your area have reacted to it. Are they mostly in agreement with the verdict or are there more who were on Chauvin's side?

You're absolutely right. He is an embarrassment to the police force.

Sure of course the courts like to take their time. And, I won't bring race into this, but our courts are just as crupt as the rest of the country. Why it's taking forever, is beyond me. I'll be happy when this ends, and the murder is put behind bars. Of course you know some a-hole is going to claim because George could speak, he could still breathe.
