My Florida Condo

We lucked out with a corner unit at our condo in Florida. It’s the largest in square footage and the views are spectacular! Our lanai faces the south and west. Looking east is nothing but water. See red arrow. We are on the third floor of a four floor building. My sister-in-law and best friends live one floor below us. My brother and other sister-in-law live in the north building with our clubhouse and pool separating us. The body of water in our backyard is called Lake Worth, although it’s the intercostal running from Boston along the eastern seaboard all the way around Florida and up to Texas. Palm beach is across the intercostal and beyond that is the Atlantic Ocean. Water water everywhere. Since our condo has been built, we have never had a flood or been hit by a hurricane or tornado. I hope it’s still standing once we return. We love it there.

@m_audrey6788 We are residents of Florida, so somehow we have to make it true. The taxes here in my state of Connecticut are outrageous, especially the income tax.

I hope so, too. Would you believe it's our real residence now and we had to leave it due to covid last May? Not that I don't mind living in our "vacation" house. I just do not like winters up north.

@Laurakemunto I looked for your message and could find it amongst all the others. I will try again later. I am in the middle of my martini right now and can't think straight.

@DianneN I just don't get the mentality of some people. I just don't. IF people would just man up and get the vaccine...we could have a good summer...

@DianneN It's nice to have two homes to go back and forth to. I plan to get a couple acres at a coastal place we can go back and forth to. My oldest daughter and son would love to live there. I love this end of the mountains.

@DianneN I know you'll do whatever is safest. But I do hope you will be able to go as you love it there. I wonder how Mr. Orville is doing too! Oh g, that DeSantis guy . Right - I wouldn't want to be in an environment where too many have that way of thinking . . . it'd be too risky .

Thanks! We hope to return in December only if it’s safe enough to do so. I’m not risking our lives for anything if we can help it. Too many covidiots in Florida, including the far right governor. The condo can sit and wait forever as far as we are concerned. There are many there who don’t wear masks because it’s against their civil rights. Cough, Cough. Same with getting vaccinated. And those are the ones who have horrendous health problems as it is.l

It's nice to be on a body of water. I miss Santa Barbara sometimes. I lived a block from the beach. I would read "scholarly articles" and then walk (or run) on the beach in the late afternoon.

@DianneN Those (the fancy articles) came before. I went to UCSB for graduate school. On the beach I was...one with the beach and the waves...even without "enhancements"...
