I sat in my blackness, all alone.
I cried as I tried to see some light.
All was night, as my head ached so,
my heart turned itself over to die.
I knew nothing in my ignorance.
I had no power of my own at all.
I had no sight to see any sight.
My darkness prevented this being so.
Then, I saw a face shining its light at me.
I knew that he was calling me home.
Love reached into me, and killed the old me,
I now sang of my new love song for God.

Even the darkness has God's heart in it.

Thank-you. I am glad you liked my poem, from darkness to light. It is the journey of each one of us to make.

We are never alone but we should never lose hope or trust that our creator is near us.
Even our loved ones who are no more are by our side.
Sinking into despair cannot be avoided but we need not lose our connection to God.
I believe the umbilical cord connection to our creator can never be cut.

Yes, that is where the Hell-fire scenario is wrong, I think, as even if we did go there, our connection to God would even stay intact there too, I would think too.

@Shiva49 He was a couple of fingers short of a full hand though, for most of his life, as, as a boy,
"he lost two fingers from his left hand, after he and his friends played with grenades they had stolen from an army store." Wikipedia
so, his left hand was not as big as his right!

@innertalks Yes, I believe nobody will be totally abandoned by God.
That is not in his DNA!
That reminds me of when Boris Yeltsin led the protesters.
The Communist party spokesman said.
"He is a big fella - we can still fit him into some job useful to society"

even darkness has god's heart in it - great line. Really love the poem, the imagery of lock reaching into you is strong!
