"The Very Hungry Caterpillar." My Very Last Assessment....

Yesterday I had my very last assessment with my teacher. The assessment was to read a story to the children (had to be a certain book with specific things) but with props. I decided on "The Very Hungry Caterpillar." I have always known about this book but the other night was the first time I've actually read it. Unless, it had been read to me when I was little and I've forgotten about it. Either way, good book.
Anyway, this is what I did. In the photo there are print out pictures of food. Before I started the book, I put all of these pictures on the table, I explained to the children that while I am reading the book, when certain foods were mentioned, that they were to find that food/s and place it onto the black card on the correct day. One apple for Monday, Two pears for Tuesday etc. I also had print out photos from the book that I would stick onto the top right corner for every time the caterpillar grew / went through a different life cycle. I did this to put it more in their faces of what the caterpillar was going through.
I was nervous all day worrying about my assessment (as I have done each and every time - this was my 5th assessment) but all turned out well. Children had fun and my teacher gave me positive feedback only. So I'm happy.

I found that the idea to teach them the numbers and the name of fruits while reading was excellent.

@CarolDM I hadn't actually thought about that til literally now while reading your comment. I've been thinking too much about how it was liked and assessment was completed that I didn't actually think about how I should be proud. Thank you so much!

@DocAndersen Good on you!!!! I LOVE that idea! Your idea wasn't to show rubbish! The point of it was to show how much rubbish was being carelessly thrown onto the ground or not binned properly. I remember when I was in primary school, one of my friends was forever throwing her recess / lunch rubbish on the ground or shoved in between the benches and it drove me nuts! I would grab it and put it in the bin rather than have it there.
If I was that principle, I would have been ok with this to try and open the children's / teacher's / anyone's mind on how we take our world for granted.

@VivaLaDani13 One year we took over the science display (the principal okayed it then tried to say he hadn't when he saw the display).
My class picked up all the garbage on the playground for two days. We carefully put it in plastic bags and put that in the display window.
The lead of the PTA and the principal both lectured me about why that was wrong. I said, then do something about the trash!
The PTA paid high school kids to clean up the playground twice a week after that!

@Treborika lol I'm sorry but I highly doubt that. You really don't need to be like that with me. Cause it's a little bit too much. We are MyLot friends already so no worries.
