Wednesday Work

Late arriving here. We are having a sunny, crystal clear day. After a 4 mile walk, hubs and I decided to work together in the yard. So much to do! I spent a good part of the time picking up branches and twigs, while hubs cut small trees and shrubs and raked. Of course I couldn’t resist snapping some of the pretty yellow forsythia which wraps around our side yard into the backyard. They match my yellow daffodils and look so pretty! My husband’s childhood friend called from Florida while hubs was outside working. I wound up gabbing with him for one hour! So glad hubs came in and continued the conversation. Now I can gab with you!

You have a huge yard - I am sure there is much to do! I love that yellow . . . are they easy to maintain? Well, the wall work has begun. They tore out all of the fencing in 2 seconds . . . now they're digging up the ground. So lots of work going on outside - I get to rest from yardwork for a week

. Well, the wall is done now, but there is a lot of work to do - cleaning up first. We literally have an empty canvas within the walls (looks like Mars, not kidding) - now I have to think what to do to make it beautiful. What are your plans in the way of shrubs? Wow, that came out of cuttings? That's amazing . . . and beautiful!

@much2say I am sure you will make excellent use of the “space”, pardon the pun!

I want hubs to trim these down. We have other shrubs between most of them getting ready to bloom. They don’t need to be crowded out, too.

Sigh.... the yard is too big for us, but we have a landscape company to do everything else. We are clearing out a wooded area to enhance the yard, and plant more flowering shrubs. Would you believe that I made cuttings from one forsythia bush to plant all those? They need to be cut down after they flower , because they grow like crazy. I’m so glad that the wall work has begun. It will be beautiful once it’s completed, and you can enjoy your new backyard look in a week!
