Long Day Today!

Well today was another busy day. We had to go to Baton Rouge again today to close my mother's bank account and re-open due to more fraudulent charges hitting her checking account. We assumed the same people (family) were involved but I got a call from the sheriff's dept. this morning with a list of names who were responsible for the charges. Shock!!
Anyway, we got the banking done after a reschedule from nursing home changing times on me and then having to coordinate with our bank branch to move the meeting to the branch close to the nursing home so this could still get done today. It all worked out and we are back in busines. Next week we get to go to the Social Security office to change the direct deposit of her check. Fun..not really. I hope we don't have to wait long.
Hubby did get to meet the man he was buying a table saw from on our way in instead of meeting on way out of town. This was a great deal he found on marketplace and scored an almost brand new table saw for 1/2 the retail price. The man was a contractor that owned his own business and this saw wasn't quite big enough for what he needed.
All in all it was a good day. Now I'm catching up on my notifications.
How was your day?

@wolfgirl569 The best part is the stupid bank, Hancock Whitney puts the entire account numbers on your monthly statements! We will be closing account and opening a new one at the credit union I use before going to Social Security. I'm not going through this a third time.

Glad you got the bank stuff straightened out. I spent all day getting ready to meet our kids at Myrtle Beach for the weekend. Can't wait! I always over pack, lol.

@kareng I always think I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. But then I think I need everything!

What a chore! I’m so sorry you have to go through that. I pay for ID theft protection, and thankfully I’ve never used it. I hope and pray I never do.

We've been through it a few times. Once was when we found out someone used my husband's ID to buy a phone in NYC. He had to prove he'd never even been to NYC. The other two were when someone used our credit card, but they were a lot easier to correct than the first one.

@1creekgirl I've had credit card theft charged also. Those charges were made in Europe so wasn't any problem getting my money back.

We picked a lot of mangoes today, and someone bought all of them.

I'm glad you know who was doing the fraud on your mother's account. I'm glad everything is done and your hubby has a new table saw.

ID theft is such a pain to correct. I'm glad it all worked out. The Social Security office can be OK if they're not too crowded. They were very helpful when I went. My day was OK. Kudos to hubby scoring a good bargain on that table saw.
