John was being told in his dream to not hold himself back from his being himself

John Jeremiah Jones, had just woken up from a dream. He realised immediately that this particular dream held great importance for him, and for his life. He decided to try to look deeper inside his dream, so as it might help him to further wake up to himself in his outer life too. Dreams untie one from themself, by undoing the knots that hide us from our self. Our dreams throw these knotted ropes at us, and help us to untie the knots, and to see why we put ourselves in such a bind to begin with. In this dream, John was a guest performer, singing in a large hall, to a group of college students. John sang a very powerful song about life, success, and sadness too, and it touched each, and every person, in that room, with the poignant meaning of what he was singing about. We need to push ourselves past ourselves to find the real self that we can be stretched into being. John cried as he sang, as he had never done this in his own life, and he wanted to give these college graduates the idea that they could indeed do it in their own lives, if they just push themselves past themselves. Only you can live life as you, so live past yourself, and never hide in one of your old past selves. "When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on." so said, Franklin D. Roosevelt, a former United States, President, 1882 to 1945). Here John was telling his audience to more untie that knot to see why it is knotting up our life, but if we cannot untie it right now, what the President said is a good thing to do right now too. how long can we dangle from a rope?

Precariously, mostly. But, if we have no fear, its swinging will take us to the next ledge, or high point in our life too. We can use the knot at the bottom of the rope though, only if the knots at the top have been tied properly to the strongpoint that holds our life in place, and which to my mind, is a trust in oneness, God, or the overall direction of evolution, as being good for all in the long run. We need to trust in the strength of this knot, and that we have tied it with love, not with greed for something from our so doing, which is then a fool's knot instead.

@DocAndersen I wonder if God has any fear then? The Christian Bible says that perfect love casts out all fear, and there is no fear in it. If this is really the case, God has no fear in him. If we are meant to be mini-Gods, perhaps we should aspire to have no fear in ourselves either, only perfect love, but until we get there, fear does serve its purpose to guide us along, and to open some of love's otherwise closed doors for us. Fear has closed those doors of course, but fear also gives us the keys to reopen them for ourselves too.

@innertalks i would say that having no fear isn't smart. But being able to manage our fear is a good thing.

I think many dreams give meaningful messages particularly the ones we can remember graphically. I have the most important I have dreamed written down,

My Dad used to record all of his remembered dreams too, and I record most of mine as well. I notice repeat themes come up regularly. Often, I am on a train, but without a valid ticket, for example.

@innertalks I have been to the world beyond and back and I am always reminded that what I see is with the eyes of a person who is still living on earth and only give an idea of what everything really looks like. I remember the last time I had my out of body experience I saw my beloved soul mate standing on a dock overlooking a lovely lake and I was glad to see it was so nice there where he was,

@RasmaSandra You are lucky to be able to travel to the other worlds like that. It would be a very reassuring experience for you, I would guess.

Dreams can be an important part of our life, showing us what we need to do and do it afraid if we need to. When we do, we push past ourselves and grow into the person we were meant to be.

Yes, I believe that at times, God sends us messages, or talks to us directly, in our dreams, even now, and as he has done in the past too.

Yes Steve, inspiring words that are needed to remind us of realizing our hidden potential. I tend to stick around within my comfort zones and when challenges throw me into deep waters, I pat myself later I am made of sterner stuff than what I had thought before. Now I play it safe but I welcome occasional challenges to stay alive. A good message especially to the young so that they can look back with satisfaction that they at least tried to realize their true potential.

Thanks, siva. I like to try to write various things in different disguises to try to give out some type of a message from my writing. Thanks, if this was a good message, I have achieved something positive with this one.

@Shiva49 I get tired of constant problems too, especially when they are not my problem, and somebody wants me to help them solve it for them. A sister in law is hopeless at filling out forms, for example, and so she sends them all to me to fill out for her, giving me multiple headaches, at my age, when I thought that I had finished seeing any more such forms by now. Tax forms, new employee forms, medical forms, resumes, is there no end to what she wants of me? If I had my old grandpa's type of a kitchen, I would go back into the kitchen, and throw all of her forms in to his wood burner stove...lol...

@innertalks Seizing the challenges and opportunities can take us to another zone but we should be comfortable with the path we choose. I cannot be one faced with incessant challenges. I more often remind myself - if I cannot take the heat, get out of the kitchen!
