Today is Mahavir Jayanti!! A Jain Festival!!

Hi guys, Hope you all are doing good and relaxing at home. I am doing good too. I will be staying at home as not going out since few days. Today 25th April is celebrated as "Mahavir jayanti". It's a festival of Jain Community of India. The lord Mahavir was born on 25th April in Vaishali district of Bihar. He was born into a royal Kshtriya family. At the age of 30, he became an ascetic and left all the materialistic possessions, including his home, in order to find spiritual awakening. After making the world a better place with his preaching for 30 long years, in the 6th century BC, he attained moksha or salvation. On this day, the jain people decorate their homes with flowers and do prayers. They visit temple and their relatives. Many jain people take celibacy on this day by leaving materialistic life in order to live a spiritual life. It's called Moksha or Salvation. Hope you find this information interesting.
