While I could wrap up these two countdowns of songs with “old” and “age” in the titles in a couple of days, I want to drag it out so I can start the next countdowns on May 1. May will be Motown Month! Meanwhile, this song didn’t make the cut but JJ would kill me if I didn’t mention it. (Actually, Scar would do the dirty work....
)
BONUS: Old Man - Neil Young
Or, an early meeting of Hall of Famers! Young is a double inductee (as a solo artist and a member of Buffalo Springfield). The banjo is played by James Taylor. And Linda Ronstadt, along with Taylor, do the backing vocals.
And what a song! Young said he wrote this about the “old man” who owned the ranch Young bought in California with success money. The caretaker of the property asked him how he’d gotten so rich so young in life. I guess that set Young’s mind off on how indeed.
“Just real lucky,” Young told the man.
Then he told all of us what he was really thinking in this classic tune.

Without a doubt the best song you've ever shared!
Sorry Neil Young fan boy took over for a moment.
The song is one of those anthems off Young's most iconic album (the original Harvest). There were four songs on that album that were anthem songs.
