Day 259
Promise 727
1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God, and knows God.
8 He who loves not knows not God; for God is love.
9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
Everyone wants love. We long for it from the day we’re born. We search for it and think we found it, only to find our hearts trampled on, and begin the search again.
Love is a treasure that can’t be bought with silver or gold. Though many people think they can buy love and do everything they can to manipulate love.
John told the believers God is love and everyone who loves is born of God because God is love.
It seems love is easy to find. Find God, find love. If you don’t have love, you don’t have God.
John then said something profound. He said we didn’t love God, but God loved us and showed it by sending His Son to cover us with His blood and take our sin on Himself. Propitiation means to cover. Jesus’ blood covers you so God can cover you with His love.
As Christians, you accepted God’s love when you accepted Jesus as Your Savior and Lord. You accepted the propitiation for your sin. You accepted His covering that hides your sin from God and allows you to stand before God’s throne without the blemish of sin on your life. You can’t buy love, but you can give love. You can give the same love to others that God gave to you.
Let’s pray: Father, help me love others the same way You love me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Amen, thanks for sharing. And humans being cannot have God's love in their hearts unless they get baptized in the Holy Spirit. It is the Spirit of God that pours God's love in our heart. That is why Jesus told Nicodemus that he needed to be born in water ( waterbaptism) and be born in Spirit( Spirit baptism)

How can we love as God loves, though?
It seems a big ask.
God loves with his whole self, without leaving any part of him not loving, or working against love, and he does this because God is love.
We need to be that love too, as totally as we can be, and love all, without questioning that love too, without holding any of it back.
