The Philippine Statistics Authority is announcing here that tommorow April 30, 2021 is the start of the online registration for national ID. It has been announced for quite a time that a national ID is required since it was passed into law but the registration are not fully implemented yet. With this online registration, I think it's much easier to do. Do you have the same system in your country?

This has been controversial in the past since they seem to be questioned by some sectors in society. But I seem to agree with the government this time that everyone should have one ID to identify you for any other reason be it security or just to transact with any government agency. If this single ID is accepted then that would be convenient for me than showing lots of IDs.

@ZedSmart This is for those that do not want to be tracked by Government. But for me as a civilian with no other agenda, I do not fear anything having it.

Yes, I've also heard about the controversy but I think this will not harm everyone's situation not unless if the person have different paths and are afraid to be track down.

@ZedSmart Yes, it is indeed. I can go to other European countries with just this national ID. Of course I will carry my passport with me too but I only show my national ID if it is asked for.

Good to know about that. If we have something like this, it's sure that it's valid and can be use all the time when needed.

@ZedSmart We have to renew the ID every 10 years, it was every 5 years in the past. We need the ID almost for everything, as an example to open a Bank Account, or to register to a school or university.

I really like the idea of just one ID for every transaction in our country. I think this will help lessen corruption in most government agencies across the country.

It's good as it will become valid among all ID's.
