There are so many good actors in this world. They can deceive us when talking with them personally. Lying is their cup of tea. I always think that if a person cannot look at your eyes, then he or she is not telling the real truth. Nowadays, some people can still play our emotions for not being truthful. In your view, how can you tell if a person is lying? Image Credit: book.giflingua.com

Sometimes it's very difficult to tell when someone is lying to you and often you can't. You only find out later that they lied and what they lied about. It can be very frustrating. Some can look you straight in the eyes while lying to you.

I agree. They turned to be a good actor in front of us. Although we can determine also when talking with them. Some of their words show lying. Unless we are good at knowing the contents with their line of sentences.

@YrNemo I sometimes ignore them if they do this. I do not want to create fire if things are not true

@Shavkat Someone weaved a sorry tale and I swallowed all, until a few days ago. Another person heard the version and just laughed. She explained to me the truth, and from that, that sorry tale fell apart.

If someone is looking in the eyes they most likely telling the truth. If they look up to the right then they think I of lies. Looking my to the left or at you they are telling the truth or remembering something. Psychology study people’s behavior and these are tell tails. The way they sit do things with there hands or body when talking to you tells a lot about what a person is thinking or feeling.

I noticed that people who are not telling the real truth tend to be anxious or sweat if being talked to them closely. The breathing pattern also changed when being cornered but continue to lie.

@ShyBear88 I can also do white lies. I just do it when I do not want others to get hurt.

I "invent" stories and observe how and what they would respond.... that's how I could catch liars if they are inconsistent with their responses.

That's a good idea. I can fabricate some stories to find the real truth.

@AkoPinay Most lawyers are like this. My cousins and his father are good at it. But it doesn't work for me.

I can't. I only figure out certain lies after weeks of hearing different versions of a same event.

I can relate to you. For me, I tend to more cautious with their words. During the course of having a conversation with them, we can tell that they are lying.

when the person is lying I always look in the eyes, when the person is lying you can see the eye is thinking while looking at you. but if the person is not, it straightly looking at you and you don't see anything.

I do agree that the movement of their eyes can send something wrong or not. Although they are good at it sometimes.

Many different ways to tell. Watch their expressions and body language.

I agree with the body language. We can determine how they behave while talking with them.

Usually the other person won't look you in the eyes. But some might master this and lie to your face straight on.

I do agree that there are some good actors. Eventually, we can still determine it through their words.
