COVID and Politics !!

During the dinner I was talking to Dad. He was shouting on the state government for the lackadaisical attitude (As per him). It reminded me of a story: A company has planned a party to bid goodby the leaving president and to welcome the upcoming president. The Leaving President then took the succeeding president to the cabin and handed over two envelopes. Before the succeeding president ask anything he said "If you face a situation where you will see no route, no solution, then Open the envelope 1. If the problem is solved then fine, else Open the envelope 2. If it is not needed then Open envelope 2 on next crisis." Company moved on. One day the situation arrived. The Now president was clue less on the solution. He recall the envelope 1, and reach to the locker. When he opened the envelope he found a Note in it. The Note says "Put the blame on the previous president". He laughed and in curiosity opened the second envelope. And this time the note says "Prepare two envelopes again and hand it over to the new president." It's always very simple. Pass on the ball, AKA 'pass on the blame'. I don't think any government has failed. call it any party in India or any place in the world, Governments have done more than what was expected. We have failed humanity. We made the situation miserable. We took everything lightly. We did mockery. We have no right to blame governments. Let's change the course. Let's stand against Covid. Let's follow the rules.

You're right, we can't blame the government. A lot of people still don't believe and underestimate this virus and when they finally get it it's their fault.

@tiwari5485 You know this blame attitude is so deeply rooted, We chose a Prime minister/President/Chancellor or whatever you call just to blame him/her for our failure.

I will blame the politicians who have no one in mind but their pockets.

We allowed politics to be like that. Now that has became the best business ever. In Democracy, Do we really vote the right candidate! Do we really have a right candidate!

You said it very well "We have failed humanity. We made the situation miserable. We took everything lightly. We did mockery. We have no right to blame governments."

The problem is that the government essentially controls everything, and so pointing out when bad or damaging decisions are made is not really laying blame. It's holding someone accountable.

Government may control everything but, we control ourselves and if don't follow the guidelines, then we have no right to point out other peoples' decision.

@tiwari5485 Who controls who? I think you are not thinking clearly enough on this, and that is not meant to be a diss or an insult. Just a simple observation. If the PEOPLE were in control of themselves, why couldn't a restaurant owner open his doors and serve lunch? If the PEOPLE were in control of themselves why couldn't I walk into Walmart without a mask? If the PEOPLE were in control, why couldn't I make the choice for myself whether I was willing to take the risk and go to work and serve someone food, or why could I not choose to take that risk and eat inside a restaurant? If Covid has taught us one thing, it is about how little in charge of ourselves we are, and how much power we have somewhere along the line given back the governments.

We do the easiest thing possible and that is, either blame or, point at somebody else.
