The other day my niece's son was experiencing fever but no others symptoms showed up except for a mild headache according to the child. We just gave him a paracetamol every four hours but it's not effective to lower the temperature so we changed the brand and increase the dosage per packaging instruction. We planned to bring him to the doctor's clinic on Monday if there's no improvement of his condition else gets worse. The child however did not lost his appetite and able to eat regularly so we give him more fluids aside from fruits. We think it was a good signs that nothing in particular is dangerous. Thankfully, on Sunday afternoon he had shown energy and returned playing as the child usually do. We no longer bring him to the doctor's clinic yesterday as he's already back in his normal form. Today, he got his new haircut after after of not having it for months.

Fever use to be just part of a child's growing up years but this COVID-19 added another dimension to it that made it scary

That is so true. It's a sign that our body has fighting infection in it and we couldn't just tell until other symptoms come out. Good thing his sense of taste and smell did not lost and the appetite remains intact.

@merrybelle2021 at least dengue is not contagious, the hospitals were not full to capacity then, people and medical staff were not afraid of patients showing flu like symptoms, yes a non conclusive tourniquet test could also be done by us parents if all of this is any consolation to us, this COVID-19 is really different.

Before COVID, it was the possibility of dengue that made parents paranoid when a child has a fever.

@ZedSmart yup. The last place you want to be during this time is a hospital. Too risky.

A fever is never to be taken lightly these days. Could be a symptom of a viral infection. That's not good. Glad your grandson is all right.

@ZedSmart We can never be too careful. Even I can't help but worry whenever my daughter goes grocery shopping for supplies. The mutant virus is out there. Take care always. Lots of liquid these hot summer days.

Yes, thankfully. It's costly to get illness this time especially if it's something serious.
