A little bit miffed right now...

I am a little bit miffed right now. I went to Walmart today to pick up some bath items, and aloe gel. First time I have been there since the pandemic started back in March 2020. Before I left...I decided to pick up a 6 pack of Ultra Plush Quilted Northern toilet paper. I was completely stunned and a tad bit irritated at what I saw. I have been purchasing 6 mega rolls from Publix for like $9.95 plus tax. Well... Walmart sells the exact same brand and quantity for only $6.48 plus tax. This is like a $3.50 difference for the exact same brand name, and item. For every two I have paid at Publix, I could have gotten three packs at Walmart. Walmart had a 12 pack of Charmin for the same price I was paying for the 6 pack at Publix. Plus... Charmin has 352 sheets per roll, and Quilted Northern only has 284 per roll. Publix is really taking advantage of overpricing during this pandemic. They say they price match. I am calling corporate on Monday to see if they can tell me why I spent so much extra, and will they price match a refund for me? LOL This is so unfair to the consumer. I really like this store. However, the warming and fuzzies are fading really quick here.

There's a lot of things in a store that are different, you have to be good at asking that question and you have to find things at the lowest price. But don't forget the quality. It has to be balanced.

My post said it was the exact same brand name and item. If they quality was different, I would understand. But it was the exact same thing. So to be paying that much more is ridiculous.

I understand. Many stores got their own different prices, basically different overhead, different amount of purchase - if less bought more cost, are cost factors too. You should see Walmarts generic brands like for baby shampoo. 3.99 for J&J baby shampoo 21 oz. on sale is the norm - not on sale Walmart Equate 2.29, not on sale.

It's understandable. We bought things at Aldi today we'd normaly pay twice as much at. other places.

It's what retailers do. I think they have some items at lower prices than other retailers but other items are marked up. I do most of my shopping either at Costco or online. Costco always has what I want for a price I feel is reasonable. If I have to I shop online for stuff I need and then I compare between Amazon, Walmart, Target and Kmart. I usually find fairly good prices at one or the other of these stores depending on what I need.
