Windy, rainy day. This isn’t what your mother ordered!!! Hope the weather is better where you are. But music can go anywhere, anytime, and doesn’t worry about the weather. It’s Motown May (at the suggestion of @Dena91 ), so here’s another song from the legendary R&B labels that gave us so much great music. Bet you were waiting for these guys.....
#3: I’ll Be There - Jackson Five
Listening to this song makes me so sad. Not because of the song itself. It’s a beautiful love ballad, and one of the biggest hits in the career of the Jackson Five (and for Motown Records, period).
No, it’s so sad to listen to this and think of what Michael Jackson became. I don’t know if it was success at such as early age (remember, he was a whopping 11 years old when this song was a hit) and an over-domineering father, or how that mega success of Thriller changed him and put more pressure on him than a human being should have to endure, but there are very few more tragic endings to a brilliant career than Michael Jackson’s.
If only someone had promised him “I’ll be there” and had meant it. And had wanted to be there for him, not his fame or money.....
I’ll Be There
Written by Berry Gordy, Hal Davis, Bob West, and Willie Hutch
Recorded by the Jackson Five

Michael Jackson's personal life aside, he was a huge talent.
