Fond of TV dramas or Soap Operas?

Are you addicted to soap operas? Do you have any regular soap that you never want to miss? I was once addicted watching soap operas but since they occupied much of my time and that certain addictiveness goes extreme like you can skip some important thing just to watch them, you get hooked so much that when you are not able to watch it, you take it against the people in the house even your husband or children. That sounds not really good! And of course it is easy to notice that they have the same plots! The stories became so predicting each time. But why soap operas really popular? Of course, you can watch them in the fine corners of your home for free! Soap operas actually reflect any other person’s real life drama. Sometimes we can relate to the characters so much that we feel for them, we cry for them and we get mad to those other characters that actually cause them pain. Soap operas are the common people’s lives and as we watch them, we are able to find comfort and solution to our own problems. (photo is mine)

I was addicted for a while when my children were little. True, you can relate to them. I haven't watched them in over 40 years. I don't miss them.

I don't watch such tv shows as I don't like violence and etc. There are too many things in soap operas that are not good to us specially for kids. I carefully choose what to watch. I do watch sometimes but I only choose those scenes that are light and gives positive vibes. If I the story change into something dark or negative then I switch channel. But I don't watch regularly. Just when I just feel like turning on the tv. If I didn't see any thing good I just chose to watch news or browse youtube for good videos with positive message. Soap operas reinforce too many negative stuffs like hatred to other people, being bitter to our situation, getting even with our enemies. and etc.

I can understand your point. I only watch light dramas because I wish to be entertained and not to be stressed by so much conflict that most soap operas offer.

I never watch them, as in never. I have nothing against those who watch it, but for me, it is just a waste of time. I would rather work or do anything that will generate me income than watch dramas.
