Mike McCoy who is a resident of Holiday Florida is one man who is a very brave dog owner who would do anything to do everything in his power to save his eight month chocolate lab named Jake from being a meal for an alligator who attacked the puppy when both Mike and Jake were walking near a pond.
When the alligator attacked Jake as the alligator came out of the pond and taken Jake into the pond ready to make him his meal.
Mike used a Three Stooges move by poking the alligator in the eye and force the alligator to get out of the pond so he would release the dog from a death grip.
The method of saving Jake from being a gator meal worked for both of them since Mike and Jake needed stitches from the alligator bites.
The good news is that both Jake and Mike are okay from the adventure with the alligator who was estimated to be around seven to nine feet long.
Mike has gone on record if a similar incident was to happen again with any attack on his dog, he will risk his life to save his dog without any hesitation.

I've heard about this. The other day when our field service group met on zoom for our ministry, one of our Spiritual Brothers was talking about this report.
I was cringing and about ready to leave the room but thankfully, our dear brother mentioned early in the explanation that the dog was all right.
I'm glad that everyone was O.K. Yes, I have heard about poking the gator's eye.

@Deepizzaguy I remember saving a sweet little kitten from a pit bull. I didn't realize I wrestled a pit bull until I saw the same dog the very next day.
After I realized what I had done, I concluded that I would most likely do the same thing again if need be.

You never know what's in florida waters. It's always wise to er on the side of caution when you're near any body of water.

That is what I was thinking to stay away from any body of water especially in Louisiana where gators are around.

I am also happy that the dog is okay thanks to his owner saving him.

It is an act of great risk, but in a situation like this, many people react on instinct. Thank God it wasn't worse

I agree with you since some people who engage in trying to save a life admit that they have a go for broke mentality which gives them courage to do what is right.

You are right since most people would not want to touch a gator to save their pet.
