Went to the park for morel mushrooms

Hubby and I went to the park today where my mom had found a morel mushroom a few weeks ago. I was hoping to find some. I walked around a lot on different trails and came up with nothing but I did find things that should not be there. On one of the trails when I went into the woods I found some grilled tomatoes, a sliced green bell pepper, and celery on the ground. And in another area I found a chunk of green cabbage. And here and there there were beer bottles, empty plastic cups from Dunkin Donuts, wrappers, and other garbage. We even spotted two big storage containers. In an area closer to the beach we found metal skewers meant for kebabs and a log that was still burning. There was no fire or flame but smoke was still coming from it. I guess it was recently used. I hope nothing will catch fire from that. People are pigs. All this garbage should be thrown into the trash and not into the woods or onto the trails. It was an unsuccessful mushroom foraging trip but at least I got my steps in walking in the park and even along the beach. I also got some fresh air, which is good. Luckily, it wasn't very hot or very humid, so the walk wasn't that bad. There was even a little breeze, especially by the water.

This was especially awesome to read Lena. I love reading about walking adventures. I would have to be careful about finding mushrooms. I would not know the good ones from the bad.

@lovebuglena Maybe you knelt down to look at some plants and that is how it happened. I guess the hard grass or what have you could go through leggins.

I am no expert but if I am not sure I can ask my parents or my mom's friend as they know a lot about them.

I don't know if it happened on the walk or not but I have scratches on my knees. I noticed it today when I was in the shower. Wonder how it happened. I was wearing long leggings on the walk.

People just don't really care. No one holds them accountable. There should be no excuse for piggish behavior.

There was a place where they had a garbage can and there was garbage on the ground instead of in the can. The can was pretty full though.

Definitely. Even walking along the beach there was tons of garbage there.

@lovebuglena Plastic pollution has become a major problem; and marine animals are ingesting the toxic waste. I have written several articles about it.
