Be it photography, cooking, freelancing, reaching out.........the works. I have a friend who admires and or criticizes me sincerely
And that friend is ME
Have you realised there can never be another who truly appreciates or criticises your work than yourself as you know how much of effort you have put in there. and what can be improved.

But if that helps you improve then that is a good thing If what I have cooked is not so good and someone praises me I know they are being polite (lol)

I know what you mean since my mental health doctor advised me that even if no one likes my fan fictions or satire of pro wrestling, I should be happy with my work. Which I am since I like my original character Isthmus "Panama" Squirrel who is basically a parody of Power Girl.

Yes, we know ourselves very well and we know in heart of our hearts if we have executed a task in a deft manner or not. Our own opinion is more important than anyone's opinion about our work.
