A female dog named Ruti who is four years of age is one happy dog after a couple who lives in Phenix City Alabama named Jeremy Armstrong and his wife Jessica Ventiere saw the profile of the mixed breed Pit Bull and Bull Terrier at the Alabama Humane Society.
Ruti which is the nickname of the female dog whose name is Rutabaga was inside of the shelter for a period of 853 days before she would be released from her former home to a new home with her new owners.
My feeling is that since Rutabaga is a Pit Bull and Bull Terrier breed of dog, many would be owners were afraid of the dog due to the negative image that the media paints of them.
However when the owners of the dog saw that Ruti was really a sweet loving pet, the relationship between the dog and her new owner was a match made in Heaven.
My late mom always told me that dogs who are raised right turn out to be wonderful pets when they become adults.
Never judge a dog based on the breed. My late dog Poochie who was mixed breed Black Labrador and Rottweiler was a sweet female dog.

I did not know that your cat the Dude was inside of an animal shelter for a long time. The Dude turned out to be your best friend.

@CarolDM I remember my relatives adopted a mixed German Shepherd mixed dog named Thunder from an animal shelter in Metairie in 1988 who was ready to be put down due to his aggressive behavior toward males.

The majority of dogs that my family owned were of mixed breed with the exception of one German Shepherd named Thunder II who lived eight years.

Some breeds get judged based on what what one or two might do. And, those who do are a result of poor ownership or abandonment. It's sad the world has to be like that.

I agree with you since it is wrong to think that all dogs of a breed are monsters.

He is so cute and I am glad he has found a home, I would not mind switching from cats to dogs with such a cute one but too big for my apartment,

853 days is way too long for a sweet dog to be in a shelter. I'm glad Ruti has a new home.

I agree with you since any dog who stays in a shelter for over two years would be lucky to survive in a place like that.

I adopted a rescue Rottweiler years ago, she was a gentle, loving soul. Nice story here.
