Due to heavy rainfall hills in Cherrapunjee and Shillong are lush green.

Cherrapunjee in Meghalaya receives very high rainfall during monsoons. Both Cherrapunjee and Shillong have beautiful mountains, the Himalayas. The hills are lush green with a lot of alpine vegetation.
