Would you like to listen to a Podcast?

A podcast is an series of spoken word digital audio files that one could download on a device like smart phone/ laptop etc. for listening. Some Streaming applications and podcasting services provide and mobile applications are convenient way to listen to choice of your podcast.
You could say it is kind of radio service, where audio is available but you could make a choice what to listen and when to listen. A podcast series usually features one or more hosts engaged in a discussion about a particular topic. They could be of any duration from say 20 minutes to 50 minutes.
I listen to podcast sometimes when I do not wish to read something and I find it interesting way to gain some knowledge and information. For example if I am going for an evening walk, I plug my ear phones in my device and listen to it, while walking.
Do you listen to podcast on your personal device and if you do - how do you find it?

actually I don't listen to any podcasts unless the person getting interviewed is my favourite and it's a good practice to learn the way of talking

Yes, you are right that until and unless we have some interest in the subject, we won't listen to any podcast.
I recently listen two podcast on a mobile application (which is a music application). I love cricket and these are about Cricket.
(i) Spin wizards with Anindya Dutta
(ii) Managing '83 with Pr Man Singh
These two were were interesting podcasts which told about history of cricket in a very lucid manner.

These are basically recorded interviews or solo narration on any particular subject. The advantage is we could listen those interviews/ narrations at our convenience.

@dpk262006 I know because my husband often listen to podcasts, but there is nothing that I am interested to listen.

I do not listen to podcasts, but I do have a few friends who host them. One does music from the 80s. Another does experiences as an African-American. Another is a "healer". And there are others. The closest I get to anything similar to that is listening to my car radio while driving

If your friends host podcast then I think, you should give it a try, if possible and as convenient to you.
Yes, listening to radio while driving (specially when you are driving alone) is a good option to keep us involved. I also listen to radio, although I prefer to listen to news, when I am driving alone.

@much2say I can understand that you are hard pressed with many responsibilities that you just do not find time to listen to any podcast. Yes, you are right that it requires attention and you just cannot listen it, like you listen to music.
I understand that you watch the news on TV, when at home.
Yes, you are right that driving is not an easy task, now a days and one needs to be fully attentive, while driving. I am sorry to hear that you had two bad accidents in the past and those incidents affected and you badly and now you remain extra cautious, while driving.

I prefer actually prefer to watch news on tv. I really have to pay attention to the roads when driving here - there are crazy drivers everywhere. In the past 3 years, I have been in 2 bad accidents - both incidents were not my fault - and that shook me up intensely.

I never listen to them but is becoming very popular and I was thinking I could do something like that but could not just be me. I would need someone so I can feed off of or I would be boring as all hell. Streaming is not my thing and to be honest its getting watered down because so many do it I imagine same thing for podcasts unless you can get corporate world to sponsor you. They never tell you that part of capitalism.

It is your choice but if you want to see the video also, you will have to stick to your device else you will miss the pictures.
