Shopping All Done!

I have been shopping for my youngest granddaughter's birthday present. Her birthday was last Thursday and she had a party the Saturday before her actual birthday. We didn't go because there were too many people invited that we don't know and a lot of kids. When it comes to situations like this, I'll play it safe. We will plan a visit after her gifts arrive which should be in 2 days. No big hurry! I also am waiting on her big brother's birthday present which is late. That is because the stinker never would give me an idea of what he would like. I finally came across a set of wireless ear buds and said that's it! He will like that. So now that shopping is done and all gifts in that family are caught up, I am fixing to hit the bed. I have already ordered part of my oldest granddaughter's birthday present so it will be on time. And we will be on our beach vacation for her birthday so I know she will have a great time. She is so excited! I am hoping to stay caught up with birthday presents and mailing birthday cards now. Do you every forget or get behind on birthdays and mailing cards or buying gifts? I am blaming it all on getting older!! Photo: Pixabay, Public Domain

I am usually very good in remembering birthdays, but there are other things that I forget. We are all adults in the family, we decided not to exchange gifts anymore.

That makes it simple!! We only buy for the little ones but when my oldest remarried she doubled the grands with the stepkids and then they added on with a baby girl.

@kareng We have no children, my only niece is now 36, she is not married, she lives with her companion and they do not want children. It's very easy.

I remember the day but then forget to buy the gift at times. Another reason I like buying as I see things. Means I already have something. Of course then I sometimes have to find where I stored it

I couldn't tell you how many things I have put up and "forgot" about!! I feel bad when it is clothes and they no longer fit. Sometimes I have no clue. My grandson has loved Legos since he was 2. I have bought so many that I know they have a zillion sets between the 3 boys now. I didn't want to buy another nice set because when I stayed for a week after baby was born the boys took ALL of the Lego sets out of their respective boxes and put all pieces in a big tote. They wanted to see what they could create. Well of course the legos ended up all over the floor and scattered everywhere. Not buying more Legos for that to happen. Now my granddaughter was easy to buy for she loves horses and Spirt Untamed comes out this Friday. I got her a doll and a couple of horses. She goes to visit one of the judges horses every week and brings them carrots. She loves them!

@wolfgirl569 Yes, the smaller ones seem a lot easier to buy for! We are up to two teen boys now and one still in middle school. I'm clueless on boys that age since I had all girls. I ended up getting him wireless ear pods. I figured those would go to good use.

@kareng I dont buy too many clothes ahead for the little ones. But the grown up ones I will. Hubby picked up a shirt for the daughter last week. As it will be a Christmas present I put it on top of the decorations. I know I will find it there. Monster seems to be holding steady on all animals. She also adores her blankies. So that is 2 things I can pick up ahead for her.

Sometimes, I do forget important things like that. I think too much about many things and can`t remember all.

We don't have any gifts to buy; but all the birthdays are on my calendar along with doctors' appointments. I don't know what I'd do without it.

That is how I am with my planner! I started using it when I was going the Travel business and just kept it up when I quit.

kids are hard to buy for - that is for sure. I need to find a gift from my (1 year old) baby Grandneice, and I am stumped. it will probably be a teddy bear!

@kareng her grandmother (my sister) is a teddy bear freak. The first present I ever bought for my little sister was a Paddington bear, I think I will continue that tradition. Doll next year!!!!
