My Day- Wednesday (6-2_21)

We had a busy afternoon running errands and picking up groceries which turned out to be a joke. There were only like 3 people working in the department. All parking spots were taken; we circled for almost 15 minutes and I told hubby to just park. He did and I called to say we are here in what would be slot #16 BUT I got a recording and the voice mail was full so I couldn't even leave a message. So I got out of the car and went to talk with one of the employees delivering an order. He was very nice and said he would put my order in queue when he got back inside. The next time he came out with an order he couldn't find the car/customer which led to him going from car to car asking if they were Mr/Mrs. XYZ. No go! Then a customer got out and started to go from car to car asking. No go! He went back inside. Our order finally arrived about 10 minutes later. This whole ordeal took up 50 minutes!! Crazy and we have never experienced that long of a delay or confusion. One problem is that regular customers park in the reserved parking spots for grocery pickup and go inside to shop. This needs to be stopped.
I also ran into the other grocery store for some meat (don't like Walmart's offerings in that dept.), Dollar Tree for a couple of things and the Co-Op for fertilizer and chicken pellets and crumbles for the juvies.
Oh and we had several little rain showers on and off all day. At least that didn't coincide with the errands today!
We were both tired when we got home and glad that we picked up burgers for dinner. I have been trying to catch up on a few things here online.

Sorry you had such a hard time getting your groceries. My day was quiet and uneventful. Love the rooster pic.

It's sad when very few workers are available, but 10 minutes isn't so bad a wait. You got a lot done, and was lucky you hadn't caught rain, great. No cooking dinner, wonderful! Not a bad day, all in all,

@oahuwriter True but we didn't have any other place to go but home so not a big deal on the wait actually. I just hope that isn't the new routine!!

Yes, being short handed was not the worker's fault that came to work but the parking situation needs to be dealt with. I have heard that other stores has a monitor out there and when someone parks and walks into the store they tell them to move the car or have it towed.

@kareng i do Yelp reviews - I always tell people that no matter what when parking is awful I take a star. It makes the experience less enjoyable!

My day was a lot calmer than yours. I always just go in and get what I want so dont know how well the pick up is here.

That was the first time we had a problem. I like ordering online and not going inside. We don't have delivery here since everyone is spread out in the country. This one Walmart even serves a couple of parishes in Louisiana. I am hoping that will not happen again!

Your Grocery shopping experience sounds horrible. Perhaps you need to shop more stuff online. Or were you off to buy things that were not much available online?
