A song I co-wrote with a 4-year-old

I like to start singing out of the blue when I'm working with kids. Because they tend to imitate my behaviors, the kids will often wind up singing with me. The other day (actually, a couple of weeks ago), at the "good" preschool, some kids were arguing over stacky blocks, and I started singing. A 4-year-old boy took the cue and added his own lyrics. I leave it up to you to determine which lyrics are his and which are mine. What is sweet is that (weeks later) I can start singing our song, and he'll add his lyrics. It's a bonding thing. Here are the lyrics: mine mine mine do you like to share? not me! at least you're honest at least you're honest mine mine mine we're playing in the sun we forgot to argue and we're having so much fun mine mine mine do you like to share? not me! at least you're honest at least you're honest Copyright (2021) Horse and Aiden

“Not me!” That’s you. You say that to Vanny all the time.

That was such fun, I'm sure! My son's first original song was "Tater chip, tater chip, don't go 'way, don't go round." He was about 2 or 3. Clearly a musical genius.

@wolfgirl569 I like the fact that littlies can admit that "sharing is hard."

@TheHorse It sounds like music is a good tool to use to relate to the kids.

Not me and we forgot to argue...they are yours for sure. A 4 year old will not argue like you do with Vanny
