Bearing life's load

"It's not the load that breaks you down, it's the way you carry it." Lou Holtz, a former American football player said this. Why does God give us a load to bear, even if he might call it a gift, and we might call it hardship, a load still feels like a load, to us, now doesn't it? All is love, and that means that when you are carrying a load through life, you are holding onto an aspect of love, and not letting it flow freely to be only itself. Isolating an aspect of love gives it legs, and so something such as fear is carried, and it becomes heavier, the more that you continue to carry it in your life, along with you. Why do we see our life as a heavy load to have to carry, and in fact too heavy for us to even want to carry sometimes, even to the degree that we would rather just get right out of life, all together, at times? Life is an aspect of the greater livingness that is the whole of God loving, and existing within the oneness of himself. Love brings seemingly diverse aspects of itself to you, to help you to understand life, but when you push this aside through seeing it as hardship, the hardships, unfortunately, will increase, precisely because you are refusing to learn from your experiences with love. Most hardship is self-imposed in this way, and it is really about refusing to see the lessons within your life that God sets for you, in order for you to learn how his love works for the good of all. All of this creates karma, and which is the burden of life that you carry with you, until you resolve it by accepting the love that, even karma is bringing to you to learn from. Karma is resolved from understanding that wisdom must be acquired from mixing new knowledge with acquired understanding to resolve and dissolve the karma created from offloading karma onto another, and in not carrying it for yourself. We must bear our own burdens on our own journey, and be ourselves, to learn as ourselves, and to grow past seeing any heaviness as a load, but to seeing it as a denser aspect of love, that we ourselves must lighten up within, and then to restore it to a greater balanced position within God's perfect love. Where can we get the extra strength from to bear life's loads? Life is not a load, unless you try to carry it. Flow with life, and allow it to carry you along, without any loads, or effort, at all. Strength can only come from strength, and this means simply that we need to recognise our own gifts, in such a way that we see them as gifts to be explored, rather than as burdens to carry. When we ignore gifts, they become burdens that our soul continues to place on our shoulders for us to take notice of one day, but if we pick up other karma, not related to our own true gifts, we create added burdens of our own. The only answer is to live from our gifts, by being our true selves uniquely as we were created to be. Life is heavy for us, because we create its gravity. Burdens are always more about our own attitude about them, rather than the actual weight of the load. Everyone can only feel his or her own burdens, and nearly everyone thinks that there own burdens are heavy to have to carry. Our burdens are relative to the amount of energy that we can muster to cope with them. When you are negative, your burdens seem to multiply, and increase in their weight. Positive people carry their burden with a certain lightness of knowing that it is sustenance on their trip. It is like carrying water and food for the journey of life, and so we learn the most, from our heaviest burdens. The heavier the burden, the more love that we must give out to carry it with. The only energy is love, and when we love fully, we never feel the weight of any loads or burdens, as all is then being carried not for us, but for God in serving the greater good of his perfect oneness manifesting itself in us, as us. A shared burden, halves the burden.

We are not to carry our burdens. We are to give them to Jesus to carry. Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. @innertalks I've always heard Jesus' yoke is easy because He carries the load. We don't assist Him, He helps us. Our load, burden, is heavy to us, but to Jesus, the burden is light which allows Him to carry it for us so we only need to rely on Him to take care of us. His mandate to us is to take the message of salvation to the world. That's not a burden either, because He shows us the way, helps us along the way, and is right there to help us when we falter with His message. Our job is to deliver the message. The Holy Spirit draws the people, convicts them of their sin so they receive salvation, and provides everything we need to disciple the new Christians.

@just4him It's just that I hadn't noticed the verse before, "take my yoke upon you, and learn of me." It would imply to me, that if we do have some burdens, we can take Jesus's yoke, and learn from bearing that for a while too. It is said that we all need to carry our own cross too, and perhaps this refers, in a way, to this verse as well.

The thing is though, with the grant of freedom that allows us either to choose God, or Satan, that choice can become a burden for us too. Once, we accept Jesus, then, he will carry our load for us. That verse, to me, also implies, that we should help Jesus to bear his burdens too, and take his yoke upon us so that we might help him to share his message throughout the world too. Also, it appears to be a constant choice, and we can always still move away from full acceptance, if tempted/tricked by Satan too. Saint Peter, must have allowed this, as Jesus said to him, "Get behind me, Satan."

the burden carried is always something that has to be considered. There are burdens we carry because we have to, if we don't that burden falls to one we love. There are burdens we carry because we are stubborn and refuse to ask for help.

Yes, a burden which is more a duty, needs to be carried as our responsibility of living, a responsible life, and out of our love for others too. Yes, sometimes, we try to go it all alone, and are too proud to ask for help of others. Sometimes, we are even proud that we are able to carry so many burdens, more than others. It becomes a badge of honour for us, in a way, or a battle scar that we show others proudly too.

@innertalks shoulder the load, it is a saying that permeates our world. we expect others to bear their burden silently. I believe now, that we should instead of pleasantries (have a good day, good morning) should instead say "I hope your load is lighter today."

@innertalks i like your second part better than the first. The "how can I help you lighten your load" is most often a platitude. The person means like the phrase have a good day, that they simply acknowledge there is another human there. BUt the last line of that is critical - sometimes we lighten the load without knowing it. that is the step towards understanding that is so important!

Yes Steve, sharing is the key. When we share, we are in the same boat. Some show by example how to live with a smile carrying heavy burden of others even. In my younger days, I used to see more of them; people look out for them to unload their load. Their presence itself was a balm to sore shoulders, but for them it was just spreading positivism, not a burden. Our creator did not think creation is a burden but an act of enduring love. In tough times, we can hang on to his coattails though better to do our own part too for our fulfillment. Just because he can take all the load does not mean we twiddle our thumbs, laze around, and expect all will be forgiven. The cow may give milk but someone has to milk it with tender care too. We have to milk the love of God with utmost awareness of the countless blessings and variety.

Yes, the milk flows, and the creative person, can then make it into all manner of things too, butter, cream, icecream, cheese, etc. etc, as well as milk. Once we milk the love of God, we also need to be creative with it in our own lives, as well, even sharing the produce produced, with others too.

@innertalks Creativity is the key for a meaningful life and to look forward to another day with hope and love. It is not hard work then but a labor of love.

@Shiva49 I agree with that; creativity connects us to love, and hence to God, as God is love, and God is the ultimate creator, of all too.
