When You Are Too Short To Do Laundry

Short lady problem, it's a long way to the bottom.

So, does anyone here have one of those top loader washing machines with the super deep tub, and no agitator? I don't have that kind here at home. But two of my children do. And of course when I visit them, I usually help out where I can. Part of that is sometimes laundry. HOW in the world do you fellow short people ever reach the bottom of these machines to get the wet clothes out? I seem to have two choices--I can use a footstool and dive in head first to get them out, or I can fish them out with a yardstick. I know I look beyond foolish on that stool with my rear end in the air. I probably don't look any better fishing the clothing out, either. While I like the option of being able to wash big blankets and comforters, and such, I just can't see the advantage of owning one of these when a person is short. Oh, and the two that own these deep pit washers are short, but not quite as short as Mom. So do you have any tricks to managing this, other than looking ridiculous?

I see using a yardstick is one of the best options. and easy to use, I think.

I agree. Besides, hanging on the edge of the washer with your head inside and your rear end in the air is not only not the best look, it makes you dizzy if you stay upside down too long!

@MarieCoyle Yes, it does. Plus gives you pain in different body parts after that.

To be honest, I never saw a washing machine that require me to use the step ladder. I'm 5'1.

Here in the US they are now very popular. And very hard for us shorties to reach the bottom of the tub.
