Late lunch... early afternoon nap

Good afternoon from this side of the planet. It's 4:30 PM as I write this post and I just got up from my afternoon nap. Infact I am still in bed after a good nap of 45 minutes. It was a late lunch for us today. I had my simple meal of chapati, potatoes and cauliflower curry, jeera basmati rice, curd and sliced cucumber and onions. The basmati rice with ghee made it extra yummy. My husband made this special signature dish of chicken as you see in picture. It's a special dish that he learnt from his mother and he has special childhood memories associated with it. It's called murg mussalman ( whole chicken with stuffing). Murg or murga is a local dialect for chicken. Though I learnt a lot of nonveg cooking from my mom( who is a strict vegetarian but cooked for others)and mom in law after my marriage, I refused to cook this dish. I make a variety of non veg recipes for my family and friends and I am actually quite popular for it. But putting my hands inside this whole bird for stuffing was something I could never feel comfortable with. So husband continues to make it. We need very small and tender bird for the dish. As soon as husband saw this perfect size and weight fowl on his favourite nonveg delivery app last night, he had a craving for the dish, he ordered for it. And it was delivered at 6:30 in the morning. It gave him enough time to clean and marinate it. He even made few changes in his work schedule to accommodate the cooking time for this dish. It's an elaborate cooking and it was ready only by 2:30. My daughters enjoyed it and " It's heaven" were the words that my elder one said as she digged in. You can see he added boiled eggs too to the gravy. But I didn't want those eggs to touch the bird. And so, I took it in my plate as soon as they were fried and not yet in gravy. Anyway, it took me quite some time to clean the stove,oven and dishes after lunch. I wanted no smell to linger on. I was tired and went for early nap today Here I am and now I can stay for some time in cyberspace. No more chores till late night. Enough leftovers for dinner..I will just iron two loads while watching TV in late night. Yay!! It's Friday Have a good time in your mylot corner
