A baby raccoon rescue story from Michigan

Welcome to another rescue story of a baby raccoon who had the misfortune of having his head stuck in a sewer cover in Harrison Township Michigan on Friday morning. Firefighters from the Harrison County Firefighters answered the call for help to use their equipment to free the baby raccoon from the trouble spot that he got into. Thanks to a neighbor who showed concern for the raccoon, the firefighters were able to use cooking oil since dish soap did not do the trick and using a saw was out of the equation since the animal could get hurt. When the baby raccoon was freed from the tough spot he was in, the raccoon was taken to the Macomb County Animal Hospital to be treated for any injuries that he had suffered during his ordeal with the sewer cover. Thank goodness there were no injuries to the baby raccoon who was likely released from the hospital to go on his way home.
