'All the President's Men' begins where 'The Post' ends.

The Watergate Conspiracy was the definitive 'burglary attempt' that led to resignation of POTUS Richard Nixon, adjudged the worst president the United States had. The title, I think, had just been shared with fellow Republican POTUS 45. The 1976 movie that starred Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman was based on a true account of two journalists from Washington Post - Woodward and Bernstein. The duo who had an ear on possible hints and clues, relentlessly pursued the court procedures on the Watergate, at the risk of their own lives. That makes the movie a sequel to 'The Post,' a 2017 investigative journalism drama that focused on the publishing firm's dilemma to divulge highly confidential files about the Vietnam War under the pain of losing the newspaper firm. The Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep movie deeply delved on the integrity of paper to stand for freedom of the press. For viewers who love the teeny bits of truth in history.

Oh interesting. I haven't seen any of those films. Looks like I will add those two to my list. Back in April I watched several movies in the same "genre" of the above films. State of Play has a great twist. Mercury Rising is kinda heartwarming. Vantage Point is such a treat to watch. Maybe you would enjoy them too.

@eileenleyva Haha I don't like Ben Affleck that much too. Only when he married Jennifer Garner did he look better to me but since they got divorced well, back to zero Ben. haha~

@owstalaga Exactly! My daughters wouldn't watch Daredevil and Batman because of Affleck. How could he have landed those roles when he couldn't act! I like that 'back to zero Ben.'

Mercury Rising is an all-time favorite. I just love 'Simon.' Special children hold a special place in my heart. Yes, Vantage Point is a treat. Am a fan of the Secret Service. Can't recall State of Play but it's in my like list. Will watch it again. I like Russell Crowe but Ben Affleck - nope.

I have seen the 1976 movie, but not the one with Tom Hanks, that seems very interesting. There is no freedom of press, nowhere in the world.

Another generalization. Watch first 'The Post.'
